ROME

My husband and I had the opportunity, September 2022, for our 23rd wedding anniversary to visit Rome, Italy. We were also fortunate to do this while cruising on a ship with friends which allowed us to also tour Greece and Turkey.  We toured around the cobblestone and marble streets on motorized scooters.  Exploring Rome's ancient ruins was a remarkable journey through history.  From the iconic Colosseum to the Roman Forum, including amazing sights and delicious food that made our trip unforgettable.  Our driver in Rome zipped us around and was our very own personal photographer at all the popular sites.  Our very first stop was at the Rome Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple. The beautiful grounds and statues of the original twelve apostles brought a very sacred feeling.  My husband, Jared and I were able to do sealing there and listening to the ordinance be performed in Italian was an amazing experience.  We were able to visit the place they say Mary (Jesus' mother) lived at one time.  We were able to snorkel in the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.  Walking around all of the ruins was thought provoking, thinking of all the time that had past and how they have been able to preserve this architecture for us to enjoy today.
